A putative hybrid between S. monadelpha and S. rostrata that arose in the garden of Karl E. Flink, Bjuv, Sweden. The foliage emerges dark purple but fades to glossy dark green, and the tree forms a dark column. The smallish flowers are somewhat obscured among the foliage (Hsu, Boland & Camelbeke 2008). It is not widely cultivated, but is grown at Arboretum Wespelaar.
