Editorial Note

The synonym Cassia bicapsularis var. chilensis Benth. given by Bean does not refer to this species.

Leaflets rounded at the apex, distinguishing it from the related Cassia corymbosa, though often mistakenly grown under this name. It is a native of central Chile, in cultivation (as Cassia corymbosa) as early as 1901.
