As W.J. Bean predicted, Prostanthera cuneata has become more commonly cultivated in British gardens over the past hundred or so years, but it has proved far hardier than he imagined. Here it is cultivated on a sunny terrace in well drained soil at Logie, near Forres in the highlands of Scotland. 7 June 2024. Image Tom Christian.

Similar to P. lasianthos in its flowers, but quite different in habit and foliage, being a dwarf shrub with roundish or obovate-cuneate leaves barely 1⁄4 in. long. It is said to be hardier than P. rotundifolia, but is uncommon in gardens. Both species occur in Tasmania as well as on the mainland of S.E. Australia. Bot. Mag., n.s., t. 132.
