Editorial Note

Plecostachys was covered neither by Bean’s Trees and Shrubs Hardy in the British Isles nor by New Trees. Species belonging to it are cultivated within our study area. The brief text below is supplied pending a full account of the genus, to be provided when funds are available. If you would like to sponsor the work please write to editor@treesandshrubsonline.org

Southern African subshrubs of tangled, scrambling habit. Leaves obovate or suborbicular, woolly; flower heads in dense terminal corymbs held on erect shoots; flowers purple-tinged yellow or pinkish purple; floral bracts whitish. Two rather similar species. Goldblatt & Manning 2000, Stace 2010
