A genus of two species of subshrubs, natives of S. Africa. Leaves opposite or the upper ones alternate. Flowers showy, on recurved stalks, in terminal panicles. Calyx with five lobes. Corolla-tube elongated, curved in P. capensis; limb with five rounded lobes. Stamens four, exserted.
