Laureliopsis philippiana is not treated by Bean’s Trees and Shrubs or by New Trees, though Laurelia philippiana Looser was mistakenly cited by Bean as synonym for Laurelia serrata Bertero (1829). (Looser’s name is a replacement for the illegal Laurelia serrata Phil., referring to this species.) A full, revised account of these genera will be provided when funding is available.
