Bean (1981) gives only a fleeting mention of this taxon (as Sorbus lancifolia) within his discussion of S. arranensis (now Hedlundia arranensis); readers are directed to that article for his brief comments. We are currently reorganising Sorbus sensu lato articles to enable a new revision of Sorbus sensu stricto to commence in 2023, and to bring the nomenclature of this complex group of plants up to date in line with modern treatments. This article will be revised in full when funds become available.
