A very hardy hybrid raised at the Central Experimental Farm, Ottawa, Canada, before 1987, its parentage involving Forsythia ovata ‘Ottawa’, F. europaea, and an unknown seedling. It is a dwarf, spreading plant with dark green, untoothed leaves and abundant, slightly fragrant flowers (Dirr 2009).
