A genus of about 100 species of evergreen shrubs, natives of Africa, with conspicuous yellow flower-heads borne singly on leafless stalks. Only the species described here is widely cultivated, but others, such as E. pectinatus and E. virgineus, are sometimes cultivated outdoors in the mildest parts. The standard work on the genus is: B. Nordenstam, ‘The Genus Euryops’, in Opera Botanica (Lund), No. 20 (1968).
