The monospecific genus Eubotryoides was split from Leucothoe as part of Judd’s (and collaborators’) continuing revision of Leucothoe s.l. and Ericacae: subfam. Vaccinioideae more generally (Judd 1979; 1984; Judd et al. 2012, 2013). On the dismantling of Leucothoe s.l. see the entry for that genus; also the entries for Agarista and Eubotrys.
