family
A group of genera more closely related to each other than to genera in other families. Names of families are identified by the suffix ‘-aceae’ (e.g. Myrtaceae) with a few traditional exceptions (e.g. Leguminosae).

A genus of a single species, endemic to the temperate forests of Chile and bordering parts of Argentina, belonging to the same family as Weinmannia. It is named after Alexander Caldcleugh, to whom we owe our first knowledge of many Chilean plants.
