Aegiphila (Lamiaceae) includes some species previously assigned to Citharexylum (Verbenaceae). The systematics of the closely related families Lamiaceae and Verbenaceae is the subject of ongoing work.
Aegiphila was covered neither by Bean’s Trees and Shrubs Hardy in the British Isles nor by New Trees, but species in the genus are grown within our area of study.
